BMW i5 M60 xDrive EV launched in India at Rs 1.20 crore: Gets 516 km range, 230 kmph top speed!

BMW India has launched the i5 M60 xDrive electric sedan in India starting from Rs 1.20 crore, ex-showroom. This model, the fifth all-electric car from the German brand in India, will be brought to our shores through the CBU route.
The BMW i5 boasts a striking design, featuring illuminated kidney grille, adaptive LED headlamps featuring vertically-stacked twin LED DRLs, sleek LED tail lamps, 20-inch M light alloy wheels, complemented by striking red brake calipers, and an M-badge rear spoiler.
Inside the cabin, you are greeted by a 12.3-inch instrument cluster along with a larger 14.9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Other notable features inside include ventilated seats, large panoramic sunroof, Bowers & Wilkins music system, 15-colour ambient lighting and more. In terms of safety, it gets six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, and Attentiveness Assistance. Furthermore, there are more features such as Reversing Assistant, a 360-degree camera, 4-zone climate control among others .

The i5 M60 xDrive trim houses a 83.9kWh (81.2kWh usable) battery pack that comes with a WLTP range of 516km on a fully-juiced battery. It also gets two motors, one equipped on each axle, producing a total of 601 hp and 795 Nm of peak torque. This EV can achieve 100 kmph from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds and gets a top speed governed at 230 kmph.
For the charging options, the sedan comes with a standard 11kW wall charger, while an optional 22kW AC charger is also available. The manufacturer claims that the i5 has 205kW DC charging capability, which will allow it to juice up from 10-80 percent in under 30 minutes.
In India, the BMW i5 will come in Alpine White, which is a solid colour. If you want something different, you can choose from several metallic colours like M Brooklyn Grey, M Carbon Black, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Sophisto Grey, Oxide Grey, and Mineral White.
