Bobby Lee Recollects Being Overwhelmed by Intoxication While Attempting to Read Lines for Scene with Sarah Jessica Parker in ‘And Just Like That’

Bobby Lee has opened up about a troubling incident on the set of “And Just Like That” that led him to embark on a journey of sobriety. During an interview on “Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson,” the actor, known for his role as Jackie Nee, Carrie Bradshaw’s podcast co-host, in the HBO revival of “Sex and the City,” recounted a moment when he was unable to perform his lines due to being extremely intoxicated. Lee revealed that while he was in Hawaii, his agent called him and informed him that he needed to be in New York the next day. Unaware of the change in filming schedule, Lee consumed a large amount of THC and alcohol, causing him to be in a blackout state when he arrived in New York. To his surprise, he was immediately taken to the set of “And Just Like That” instead of his expected destination, a hotel. Lee described the experience as nightmarish, struggling to comprehend his script and perform a challenging scene alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in the middle of New York. This incident served as a wakeup call for Lee, prompting him to commit to a sober lifestyle. He acknowledged that the situation could have severely impacted his career. Having been sober for a year and a half, Lee has been focusing on building his self-confidence and recognizing his accomplishments. Although it can feel uncomfortable, he has learned the importance of acknowledging his hard work and talent. Lee expressed that this self-affirmation has been instrumental in boosting his confidence. He jokingly referred to himself as the “Korean Brad Pitt.” The second season of “And Just Like That” is currently available for streaming on Max.
