Bride’s ‘close friend’ roasted for ‘disrespectful’ wedding outfit

A wedding guest has been roasted for upstaging the bride with her show-stopping floor-length white gown.

The woman, who was said to be a “close friend” of the bride, arrived at the nuptials wearing a stunning sequined dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high split – complete with a fur wrap.

Guests were shocked with her “inappropriate” attire – as it’s generally understood to be a big no-no to wear white to a wedding.

“Attended a wedding a few days ago and this is how a ‘close friend’ of the bride came dressed,” a guest said in a Reddit thread titled “wedding shaming”.

“We overheard the bride jokingly scolding her and she laughed it off.

“She did get roasted by the bridesmaids and some attendees.

“The other attendees dressed appropriately, a lot of people were more casual-cocktail dress-like actually.”

The anonymous guest – who took the pictures – said the woman attended the wedding with her husband so she “should have known NOT to wear white if (she was) previously a bride”.

It’s not clear where the wedding took place.

The post was met with more than 300 comments, with many people taking particular issue with the “shameless” guest for “stealing the bride’s thunder on her big day”.

“I would totally turn someone away if I was involved in this wedding, if I was the groom, bride, in the party somehow, or was one of their parents. F*** that, that person is so disrespectful,” one said.

Another suggested: “Honestly, I don’t understand how half these women don’t end up going home with a huge red wine stain on their dresses at the end of the night from a bridesmaid accidentally tripping and spilling it on them.”

One shared: “This person would no longer be my close friend.”

Another said: “She won’t be a close friend of anybody for very long. It’s pathetic how someone could think that this would be proper in a wedding situation.”

One suggested: “This is why my best friend who plans weddings for a living always tells the bride to have at least one bottle of red wine for cases like this, and you will not believe how many times that bottle gets used.”

Another said in disbelief: “Wow. Wow. Wow. That’s wrong on every level.”
