Brisbane cottage to be auctioned after it was vandalised by tenants

A Brisbane cottage vandalised by previous tenants is set to be auctioned next weekend.

The one-bedroom home is located at 14 Haylock St in Wynnum, a coastal suburb in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs, and is described as a “hidden gem” in the listing.

The steel-framed cottage was renovated and completely rebuilt four years ago, and is situated on a large block.

It has some “cosmetic shortcomings”, with the photos included in the listing revealing the walls of the home have been spray-painted.

The walls have also been damaged in some areas and the light fixtures have been ripped out.

“Though in need of a makeover, this property presents a blank canvas for the savvy buyer with a vision for transformation,” the listing said.

The home is located close to Manly Harbour Village, parks, schools and public transport.

The auction is being handled by Century 21 Adams & Costello agent Nathalie Pallandre, and will go ahead on February 24.

The owner has not yet set the reserve price for the property, and will decide this in the days before the auction.

“The vendor is open to reasonable offers prior (to the auction) however we are all set to sell on auction day,” Pallandre told 7NEWS.com.au.
