(Understandably!) “Viewers want to hold on to the nostalgia of the iconic Barbie blonde look and will be requesting for a more solid blonde hair color during their next hair appointment,” Arizona-based colorist Linh Phan says. What makes this shade different from other blondes? It’s one uniform platinum hair color throughout without any highlights or lowlights, reminiscent of the doll’s hair.
Rosewood

Celebrities including Lindsay Lohan and Julianne Moore are known for their shades of red hair — and for good reason. As shown here, rosewood is a deep red, almost brown color that feels warm and cozy for fall. Riant Passelande notes this color works for every hair texture, is flattering on a variety of skin tones, and pairs well with both light and dark-colored eyes.

Mono carbon is exactly what it sounds like. “Mono refers to one color, while carbon is the deepest ash brunette possible,” says Richards. Mono carbon works on all hair textures but is especially flattering on olive, brown, and golden skin tones. This color is achieved with a single process. (Ask for a deep super ash brunette.) One thing to consider before you get the look: “It’s very difficult to get out,” Richards adds. “Be fully committed before choosing this trend.”
Buttercream blonde

Bradford explains that he foresees a hair color featuring “a medley of pale gold and visibly ‘white’ highlights, as well as a strong emphasis on a bright face frame” trending for the season. This shade of blonde has many names, but we lovingly refer to it as buttercream blonde for its delicious dimension. “It appears as if the hair ‘glows,” Bradford adds. Bradford says that this look will be easiest to achieve if your natural base is blonde, as the highlights tend to look golden or yellow on natural brunettes. If that’s you, you might want to try a shade of bronde hair instead.
Vampy mocha

For a more sultry entrance into fall, consider a vampy mocha hair color. This shade is the warmer sister to mono carbon, so it’s best for skin with golden undertones. “This single-process color is one of the deepest brunettes with an undertone of chocolate,” says Richards. Pair it with a smoky eye for a truly moody, autumnal look.
Strawberry blonde

Both Riant Passelande and Bradford agree that strawberry blonde will be big this fall. (Truth be told, it never really went away.) It’s higher maintenance than some colors because if it’s not your natural shade, your hair needs to be lifted to a light-medium golden blonde before the strawberry blonde color is deposited into it, Richards previously shared. But the shade is well worth it when done right.
