The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AIWCA) has demanded a FIR against Poonam Pandey, asserting that her actions were deemed “highly wrong” and “unacceptable.”
On Saturday, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released an official statement through their social media handle, urging legal action not only against Poonam Pandey but also against her manager.The association condemned the publicity stunt, stating that such actions are not acceptable in the film industry and that no one should stoop to such levels.
“The Fake PR stunt by Model and Actress Poonam Pandey is highly wrong. Using the guise of Cervical Cancer for self-promotion is not acceptable. After this news, people may hesitate to believe any Death news in the Indian film industry. No one in the film industry Stoops to such levels for PR. Poonam Pandey’s manager had confirmed the False News, so there should be an FIR against Poonam Pandey and her Manager to prevent anyone exploiting their own death news for personal gains (PR). The entire Indian film industry, along with the entire nation, paid tribute (sic),” the statement read.

Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ was declared in a post posted on her official Instagram account on Friday, February 2. The message conveyed deep sadness, informing followers of her supposed demise due to cervical cancer. The post expressed the shared affection and kindness she had for every being she encountered. During this period of mourning, privacy was requested for the remembrance of the moments shared with her.

However, on Saturday afternoon, the actress released a video statement, disclosing that she is indeed alive. She explained that the intention behind the false news of her death was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. Not everyone took kindly to this revelation, and various celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut and Karan Kundrra, criticized the actress for her unconventional approach.
