Coca-Cola releases new ‘futuristic’ Y3000 Zero Sugar flavour in Australia

Coca-Cola has introduced its latest flavour, the limited-edition Y3000 Zero Sugar soft drink, crafted with the assistance of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The company’s latest innovation promises to redefine the beverage industry and “tantalise taste buds” with a flavour from the future.

Coca-Cola, a global leader in the beverage industry, has always been at the forefront of innovation with previous flavours Starlight and Pixel drinks. Its latest creation, the Y3000 Zero Sugar, is an AI-generated concoction which was developed in response to evolving consumer preferences and technological advancements.

The development process began with AI algorithms analysing vast datasets of consumer preferences, regional tastes and ingredient combinations. This data-driven approach allowed Coca-Cola’s research and development team to identify the most promising flavour profiles.

To refine the flavour, AI ran countless simulations and iterations. This digital assistant helped identify a unique combination of ingredients, considering factors such as sweetness, fizziness and aftertaste. The result is a soft drink the company says is an experience designed to cater to the ever-evolving tastes of consumers.

The packaging was also developed using AI and features a new pixelated logo and chrome colouring of purple, blue and pink.

Coca-Cola Australia marketing manager Livia De Salvo said: “Coca-Cola Creations is all about creating unexpected and magical moments for our fans. We wanted to create a refreshing, future-themed drink that blends Coca-Cola’s signature taste with the power of artificial intelligence.

“With the help of AI-powered technology, Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar imagines how a Coca-Cola from the future tastes and introduces innovative experiences to explore the future. It’s the Coca-Cola taste you love while bringing something new to your tastebuds. We can’t wait for people to try it.”

Early reviews of the new drink have been mixed, with Russ Eats on TikTok calling Y3000 Zero Sugar a mix between “Coke Zero and a Fairy Floss Zooper Dooper”, while AngeEats said it has a “bit of a weird taste to it” and that it “tastes like Coke but really sugary”.

Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar is the first limited-edition flavour from the Coca-Cola Creations team that is available in the Australian market, with previous limited-edition flavours only released in select international markets such as the United States and Canada.

Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar is available for purchase in convenience and grocery stores across the country for a limited time, until stocks run out.
