Now that Season 32 is over and done with, fans have set their sights on the Dancing With the Stars cast for 2024 and the DWTS Season 33 contestants who could be competing for the Mirrorball Trophy next year.
Dancing With the Stars is a reality TV dance competition series based on the United Kingdom’s Strictly Come Dancing. The series, which premiered in 2005, pairs celebrities with professional dancers. The couples then compete against each other for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only one champion pair remains. That couple is declared the winner and receives the coveted Dancing With the Stars Mirrorball Trophy.
The most recent season of Dancing With the Stars, Season 32, premiered in September 2023 and aired its finale in December 2023. The season featured 14 contestants including Grammy-winning singer Jason Mraz; Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino; supermodel Tyson Beckford; and Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
Season 32 is also the first season in years with three judges — Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli — after the death of former judge, Len Goodman, in April 2023. Season 32 also celebrates the return of former pro and judge Julianne Hough, who joined co-host Alfonso Ribeiro as the new co-host of the show following the exit of former host, Tyra Banks, at the end of Season 31.
Season 32 also featured a rare five contestants in its finale: actress Alyson Hannigan; former Bachelorette Charity Lawson; Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix; Marvel star Xochitl Gomez; and singer Jason Mraz. The competition was fierce, and now that it’s over, fans are already looking toward next year at the ballroom.
