Danny Hodgson’s father desperate to secure permanent residency and remain by one-punch victim’s side in Perth

“It’s like a dark cloud hanging over us all the time,” the 53-year-old told 7NEWS.

“It’s just another piece of stress, more stress that we don’t need.”

The construction project manager is currently working on Metronet’s Armadale line, clocking up to 60 hours a week on the state government project to help with Danny’s medical bills.

He also plays a critical role in the around-the-clock care his son needs.

The Department of Home Affairs refused to comment on specific cases but told 7NEWS.com.au “all non-citizens applying for a visa to enter or remain in Australia are considered on an individual basis, in accordance with the migration legislation”.

The development comes just a week after it was revealed the teenager who left Danny close to death at a Perth train station in 2021 is now accused of another violent crime in WA.

The 19-year-old who attacked the Perth soccer player in 2021 is now alleged to have punched a woman who tried to stop him from stealing from a Geraldton bottle shop in August.
