Delhi Police Advisory: Farmers’ protest triggers traffic scare, Delhi police issues advisory: Routes to avoid |

With the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march headed to the capital, heavy traffic congestion occurred at the entry and exit points of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh as law enforcement and paramilitary forces, equipped with anti-riot gear, set up numerous layers of barricades, concrete blocks, iron nails, and container walls. To counter the anticipated traffic scare, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory, notifying commuters about vehicular movement restrictions at three borders of the national capital.
Farmers’ protest: Why is it happening?
Several farmer associations, mostly from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, have announced a march scheduled for February 13. Their primary demand is the enactment of a law ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their agricultural produce.
Traffic Advisory in Delhi/Noida: Plan your travel accordingly
The traffic advisory issued states that restrictions and diversions will be imposed for commercial vehicles starting from Monday, and for all types of vehicles from Tuesday onwards.
Traffic advisory for daily commuters: Key diversions
For travelers from Chilla Border to Delhi, the recommended route includes the Sector 14A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk in Sector 15, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhundpura Chowk. For those coming from the DND Border to Delhi, it’s advisable to take the Film City flyover in Sector 18.
If traveling from Kalindi Border to Delhi, consider the route through Sector 37 via Mahamaya Flyover. From the Yamuna Expressway to Delhi, take the exit at Jewar Toll towards Khurja, then via Jahangirpur. For those commuting from Sirsa and Parichowk to Delhi, divert through Dadri and Dasna instead of Sirsa. Emergency vehicles will be guided to safe destinations during these diversions.
