Divya Dutta recently shared fond memories of her collaboration with the late Irrfan Khan. She reflected on their time together on set and the profound impact he had on her. Recalling her first film with Irrfan, Dubai Return, Divya expressed her initial awe upon meeting him, noting a mischievous spark in his eyes from the very beginning.
In an interview with The Lallantop, she revealed an incident during the filming where Irrfan’s playful nature came to light. In a scene where Irrfan’s character was supposed to drink water, return the glass, and leave, he deliberately didn’t return the glass to Divya as scripted.
Despite her confusion and attempts to retrieve the glass, Irrfan held onto it firmly, leading to an outburst from Divya in both Marathi and Hindi. However, instead of causing tension, the crew applauded, and Irrfan jokingly remarked to Divya, “Kuch toh baat hai tum mai” (There’s something special about you).

Divya also shared an intimate moment from their time filming Hiss, where they had a kissing scene. She recalled Irrfan’s nervousness before the scene, which touched her deeply. Divya said that she was feeling happy seeing him shy.

“He was shy and we had a kissing scene. I asked my director where Irrfan was, she said ‘he is at the terrace’. For the first time I was so happy looking at him because he was nervous,” she said.
Irrfan Khan battled neuroendocrine tumor for nearly two years before his passing in 2020. His loss left a significant void in the film industry. However, memories of his warmth, talent, and unique presence continue to be cherished by those who had the privilege of working with him.
