Director Denis Villeneuve‘s science-fiction film ‘Dune: Part Two’ is just inches away from hitting the $500 million box office milestone.
The film which clocked its third weekend at the box office, earned an estimated $29.1 million, thus taking its domestic haul to an estimated $208 million.
With an international tally of $289.4 million, ‘Dune: Part Two’ had a global gross reaching an impressive $494.7 million. The impressive numbers ensure that the film will cross the coveted $500 million milestone on Monday, a feat accomplished by few films post-pandemic. In international markets, ‘Dune: Part Two’ saw a good turnout, particularly in China which amassed $36 million, the UK which scored an impressive $32.8 million collection, followed by Germany with a collection of $25 million. France and Australia round off the top 5 with $24.9 million and $15.6 million, respectively.
Despite its huge $190 million budget, coupled with $100 million marketing expenses, ‘Dune: Part Two’ has managed to score a big profit margin.
