Director Denis Villeneuve‘s science-fiction film ‘Dune: Part Two’ is just inches away from hitting the $500 million box office milestone.
The film which clocked its third weekend at the box office, earned an estimated $29.1 million, thus taking its domestic haul to an estimated $208 million.
With an international tally of $289.4 million, ‘Dune: Part Two’ had a global gross reaching an impressive $494.7 million. The impressive numbers ensure that the film will cross the coveted $500 million milestone on Monday, a feat accomplished by few films post-pandemic. As it stands, the sequel holds the record of being the highest-grossing film of 2024 both domestically and worldwide.In just 10 days since its release, “Part Two” has already eclipsed the domestic lifetime box office earnings of its predecessor. The 2021 original, had a worldwide box office earning of around $433 million.
In international markets, ‘Dune: Part Two’ saw a good turnout, particularly in China which amassed $36 million, the UK which scored an impressive $32.8 million collection, followed by Germany with a collection of $25 million. France and Australia round off the top 5 with $24.9 million and $15.6 million, respectively.
Despite its huge $190 million budget, coupled with $100 million marketing expenses, ‘Dune: Part Two’ has managed to score a big profit margin.

The film, based on latter half of Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 novel, stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgård are newcomers Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Walken, adding further depth to the captivating narrative.
