The Circular Journey ticket is perfect for individuals or groups traveling for pilgrimage or sightseeing purposes. It covers two single journeys, with the length of each journey being half of the entire distance. These tickets are available on all routes except for regular ones.
One of the advantages of the Circular Journey ticket is that it offers telescopic rates, which are much lower than regular point-to-point fares. This means that the more stations included in your itinerary, the lower the price of each inclusive ticket. This makes the Circular Journey ticket cheaper than booking individual tickets separately.
To book a Circular Journey ticket, you need to finalize your itinerary and approach the Divisional Commercial Manager of the relevant Division of major stations. They will calculate the cost of the tickets based on your itinerary and inform the Station Manager. You can then purchase the ticket at the Booking Office of the station where your journey starts. After purchasing the ticket, you need to approach the Reservation Office to reserve your accommodation for different laps of your journey.
It’s important to note that normal rules on Break Journey will not apply to Circular Journey tickets. The ticket can be issued for all classes, and senior citizens can avail concessions. The validity period of the ticket is calculated based on the sum of journey days and break journey days.
