  • Ethel & Maud Luncheon: The March edition is set for March 20 at City View on the fourth floor of the Illinois Terminal. Entertainment will be by Shamrock Irish Dance Academy.   • Traveling Bingo: Join OSF Faith in Action as they bring bingo to CRIS Healthy Aging. Come out and bring a friend from 2 to 3 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month for bingo, snacks and prizes! Call us at 217-355-1543 with any questions.
  • AARP Tax-Aide: Trained AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are available, by appointment only, to prepare and file your 2023 (or earlier) federal and Illinois tax returns for free at the Champaign Public Library. This service runs Feb. 1 through April 15. Call the Stevick Senior Center at 217-359-6500 during business hours to make an appointment and learn what documents to bring with you.
  • CRIS tax services: If you are age 60 or over, you are eligible for tax services at CRIS Healthy Aging. Call us today to get more detail: 217-355-1543 or 217-443-2999.
  • Dine with a Doc: Secure your spot for the March 6 event. Seating is limited for this free event sponsored by CRIS Healthy Aging. Call 217-303-8840 to register!

STEVICK CENTER ACTIVITIES

  • Men’s group: 9 a.m. Monday-Friday. Join us for a cup of coffee and great conversation.
  • Game Days: For those who like to play Scrabble, Dominoes, Yahtzee or Skip-Bo. Noon to 3 p.m. Mondays. Call Debbie at 217-359-6500 or email stevickcenter@gmail.com for more information.
  • Bingo: 11 a.m. to noon, second and fourth Tuesdays. Call 217-359-6500.
  • Crochet, knit and stitch: 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Meditative Movement with Yoga: 9 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Euchre: Noon to 3 p.m. Fridays.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM

The Peace Meal Nutrition Program provides daily hot lunches at 11:30 a.m. for a small donation and a one-day advance reservation at sites in Champaign, Urbana, Rantoul, Sidney (home delivery only), Mahomet (home delivery only) and Homer.

For reservations, call 800-543-1770. Reservations for Monday must be made by noon Friday. NOTE: There is no change for home deliveries, but at congregate sites, you can get a carry-out meal.

  • Monday: Swedish meatballs, green beans, corn, apple crisp, whole-grain bread/roll.
  • Tuesday: Turkey and ham sub sandwiches, potato salad, cole slaw, rosy applesauce, sub roll.
  • Wednesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, seasoned green beans, fruit cocktail/Jell-O, whole-grain bread/roll.
  • Thursday: Ham and beans, carrots, kitchen’s choice of fruit, cornbread, pudding cup.
  • Friday: Hearty vegetable-bean soup, broccoli, sliced pears, whole-grain bun.
