London: The gourmet food chain German Doner Kebab (GDK) organized a Leipzig lunch ahead of Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League match with RB Leipzig, as per reports.

The traditional lunch organized by the gourmet kebab chain was aimed at serving fans of both teams ahead of the crucial match, reported franchising.com. As per the GDK, it offered free kebabs for the first 100 people to show a German passport. GDK made the announcement through a tweet from its official X handle. The offer was valid till 5 PM, as per the GMT.

Manchester City won the fifth match (out of six) in Group G of the UEFA Champions League today, and many of its players performed well. The team won a close game by edging over Leipzig by one goal. The scoreboard at the end of the match was 3-2, in favour of Manchester City.

The high pitched match was played at Etihad Stadium, and fans enjoyed kebabs as it served as a bridge connecting both Mancunians and Germans. Guests were asked in advanced by GDK to show their German passport on arrival at GDK Manchester Oxford Road for a free Kebab.

Notably, the offer that ran between 11am – 5pm, was for both dine-in and takeaway orders. The company claims its kebabs are freshly prepared in front of customers. They combine lean meats imported from Germany with fresh, locally sourced salads, served on toasted waffle bread with unique signature sauces.

The kebab chain, specializing in German doner kebabs is owned by Hero Brands since 2017.
