When Princess Kate stepped out in a polka-dot dress in September 2022, she was oozing with elegance and her ensemble even reminded us of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
The mum-of-three has been seen wearing this particular pattern on various occasions. When attending the Royal Ascot in 2022, she donned a Alessandra Rich gown with the print in black and white. Our favourite, however, was the sophisticated brown polka-dot shirt dress from Rixo she wore when taking Prince George, Priness Charlotte and Prince Louis to school.
Marks and Spencer has just dropped a range of summer styles in its collection and eagle-eyed fans have been loving a V-Neck Maxi Wrap Dress. Not only is it gorgeous, but also similar to Princess Kate’s elegant version, costing £49.50.
Instead of a shirt collar, the M&S collection piece has a V-neck and mid fluffy sleeve design that allows movement when you wear it. The shaping panel at the waist gives a feminine silhouette that looks flattering. While it cuts a regular fit similar to Princess Kate’s Rixo Izzy Dress, the M&S one has a voluminous tier on the bottom of the skirt.
Crafted in a chocolate mix colour, it comes in UK sizes from 6 to 24 and one shopper said it is “the best one” in the M&S Collection, adding: “It’s flattering and easy to wear. I am a 12 and it’s fits well, not loads of excess material as so many dresses seem to have. I even got complimented on it – winner!”
Another gave this dress five stars and said: “I do feel very nice when wearing it, I would highly recommend. Oh and it looks much more expensive than its £49 price tag.”
Some mentioned the “thin” material and suggested choosing underwear wisely or adding a slip dress underneath.
