Gluten Freedom bread recalled from Woolworths supermarkets nationally

A range of gluten-free bread is being recalled from stores across the country due to the presence of plastic.

The range of Gluten Freedom bread was on sale at IGA, independent grocery stores, independent food retailers, and selected Woolworths Metro stores.

The following products are part of the recall:

  • The Broken Black Rice & Polenta Sourdough with a Best Before date of February 17, 2024 until March 9, 2024.
  • The Everything Sourdough Bagels with a Best Before date of March, 1, 2024 until March, 12, 2024.
  • The Splendid Sourdough English Muffin with a Best Before date of February 17 ,2024 until March 9, 2024.

Food Standards Australia said the recall was due to the presence of plastic, which may cause illness or injury if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat these products,” it advised.

“Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
