The stunning gold dress that the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton famously wore to the London premiere of James Bond has had its price slashed online.
The Lotus cape-effect embellished tulle gown by Jenny Packham, which should cost $6,917, can be yours for 20 per cent less as part of Vogue’s Online Shopping Night 2023.

The dress, which embodies Old Hollywood glamour and is cut from swathes of lightweight tulle and then covered in sequins that catch the light at every turn, is truly a statement buy that you can have and love forever.

Kate famously paired the dress with bespoke Onitaa earrings – which were made in Pakistan by the South Asian luxury couture label – and Aquazzura leather pumps.
The Lotus dress was inspired by an iconic image of Jill Masterson, who was painted in gold and draped on James Bond’s bed in the 1964 movie, Goldfinger.
It’s part of an entire Jenny Packham Bond-inspired collection, which featured an impressive eight designs to celebrate the 60th anniversary of James Bond.
“The Bond movies have been a cinematic constant of my life and their glamour has always inspired me,” Packham said about the dresses.
“So, when I am asked to describe a highlight in my career – to see one of my designs in a Bond film is absolutely one of them.”
At the time of her wearing it, Kate’s dress was praised by the fashion crowd and critics alike for looking better than Hollywood actresses.
Her choice was reminiscent of a similar outfit worn by Princess Diana in 1985 for the premiere of the James Bond film A View to Kill.
For that event, Diana wore a silver-pleated dress and matching heels.
