Google Introduces Innovative Feature for Enhanced Protection Against Unwanted Bluetooth Tracking

Google has launched a new feature called “unknown tracker alerts” for Android 6.0+ users to protect them from unwanted Bluetooth tracking. This feature will notify users if an unknown Bluetooth device is traveling with them, such as an Apple AirTag being used to stalk them. Users can tap on the notification to learn more about the tracker and see a map of its travel with them. They can also make the tracker emit a sound to locate it discreetly. Currently, the feature works with Apple AirTags, but Google plans to expand this protection to other tracking tags in the future. Users can also manually scan for nearby trackers that are separated from their owners. By accessing the settings, they can initiate a scan to see a list of nearby trackers. Google recommends taking action after receiving an alert and provides additional information on the unknown Bluetooth tracker.
