Las Vegas: Google Cloud Next 2024, the company’s annual customer and partner conference, featured numerous announcements about generative AI and infrastructure innovations. Google Launches Gemini 1.5 Pro Public Preview
Google announced at Google Cloud Next 2024 that Gemini 1.5 Pro, their most advanced generative AI model, is now available for public preview. The model represents a significant breakthrough in long-context understanding, processing up to 1 million tokens and achieving the longest context window of any large-scale foundation model to date. This update allows the Gemini 1.5 Pro AI to perform more complex and nuanced tasks, such as analysing lengthy documents, writing coherent long-form content, and engaging in contextually aware conversations.
Introducing Gemini Code Assist
Google launched Gemini Code Assist, an evolution of Duet AI for Developers that now uses the most recent Gemini models. This enterprise-grade coding assistance solution provides complete codebase awareness, code customisation, and support for private codebases in multiple repositories. Gemini Code Assist enables developers to use AI to write more efficient and error-free code, receive intelligent suggestions, and streamline their development workflows.
Google Cloud Security Gets Gemini Boost To Detect Threats
The introduction of Gemini in Threat Intelligence gives Google Cloud security tools an AI boost. This generative AI-powered security solution aims to help customers identify and resolve security threats more efficiently. Gemini can identify possible threats in real-time, offer useful insights, and help security teams respond to incidents swiftly by analysing enormous volumes of security data and drawing lessons from previous incidents.
Vertex AI Gets New Features
Google revealed enhanced grounding features for their end-to-end machine learning platform, Vertex AI. These capabilities allow models to better understand and interact with the real world by connecting them to external data sources and APIs. Additionally, the new Vertex AI Agent Builder allows users to quickly create generative AI agents by combining foundation models, Google Search, and other developer tools.
