Noida Police has issued a New Year’s Eve traffic advisory, cautioning the public about anticipated diversions near crowded markets and shopping malls on December 31. The police have warned of strict enforcement through hefty fines and vehicle seizures for those violating traffic rules, particularly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
According to the advisory, the police will implement various traffic arrangements and diversions to mitigate road congestions on New Year’s Eve.Diversions are anticipated near the Sector 18 market, shopping malls including the Greater Indian Place, DLF Mall of India, Gardens Galleria, Centre Stage Mall, Logix, Spectrum, Starling Edge, SkyOne, and Advant Navis in Noida.
Similar arrangements will be in place at Ansal, Venice Mall, Gaur City Mall, Pari Chow, Jagat Farm in Greater Noida, as outlined in the police advisory.

The Noida Traffic Police has been quite active lately and took significant action last month, issuing an average of over 8,300 e-challans per day. This month-long traffic awareness campaign resulted in a substantial total of 2,51,398 challans issued. The initiative included the impounding of 680 vehicles for various violations, including those associated with air pollution as the Delhi NCR region suffered from severe AQI. Until November, Gautam Buddh Nagar has witnessed a cumulative issuance of 16.97 lakh e-challans, resulting in the collection of fines totaling Rs 94.54 lakh.
Furthermore, the police advised the public to park vehicles only in designated lots and not on roads or unauthorized spots. The police also recommended the use of alternative routes to minimize inconvenience, as stated in the advisory. While the New Year brings a reason to celebrate, it is also crucial to do it in a responsible manner, causing no inconvenience or harm to either yourself or other motorists on the road.
