Grey: Apple may introduce these two new colours with iPhone 15 Pro

We are now a few weeks away from the official unveiling of the iPhone 15 series. Apple has been tight-lipped on the launch date but speculation is rife about the iPhone event to be held on September 12 or September 13. As expected, rumours are gathering momentum on what all Apple could bring with the iPhone 15 series. The latest rumour is about the new colour options.
According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple is reportedly planning to introduce two new colour options for the iPhone 15 Pro: grey and blue. The company is also planning to discontinue the gold and purple color options for the iPhone 15 Pro.

Gold and purple out, grey and blue in

The new grey colour option is said to be a darker shade of titanium, which will be the new material used for the iPhone 15 Pro’s chassis. The blue colour option is said to be a lighter shade of blue than the midnight blue colour option. Apple does offer a lighter shade of blue with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. A similar blue colour was also introduced with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Earlier rumours had suggested a crimson red shade for the iPhone 15 Pro.
The gold and purple color options for the iPhone 15 Pro are said to be discontinued. Apple has offered a gold color option for the iPhone since the iPhone XS in 2018. In fact, the gold colour in some form has been around since the iPhone 6. So perhaps the gold colour has ran its course. The purple colour variant was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to be released in September 2023. It is rumoured to feature a new A17 Bionic chip, a 48-megapixel rear camera system, and a pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera and an all-new action button. Apple is also expected to introduce colour-coordinated charging cables for the first time with the iPhone 15 series.
