Gujarat Police takes action against ‘influencer’ doing Yoga on road with funny IG reel

There has been a recent surge of social media content, where the so called ‘influencers’ are risking their own lives, besides putting other motorists at risk for a few likes and attention. After we recently saw a youngster doing push-ups on a moving, driverless SUV, now we have a viral video of a woman doing Yoga on a busy road in Rajkot.
In the video, the fitness enthusiast, who is barely paying attention to her well being otherwise, is seen performing a split in the middle of a two-way road. At one point, a SUV coming from behind had to halt, waiting for the fitness antics to end. The video soon went viral on social media and came into the notice of the Gujarat Police department.
The Gujarat Police took action against the woman. It is not known if she was penalized for her actions or was let go after an apology and a warning. However, the police did take an amusing step. The police department made a swanky transition reel in which the influencer can be seen apologizing for her mistake and admitting that performing such stunts on public roads is risky.

The incident has furthered the debates about the responsibilities of social media influencers. They need to be mindful of their actions and to avoid setting a bad example for their followers.
