The GWS Giants have trolled Collingwood on social media with a post that fans are hailing as a massive win.
The official club account responded to the Magpies’ post from Saturday where they unveiled an upgrade to their training facility.
Collingwood’s initial post drew the ire of many fans because they had converted their old netball training base into an indoor football field.

The club’s netball court was originally built as part of a $15m government grant, but Collingwood folded their Super Netball team in 2023 due a reported yearly loss of $1m.
Fans criticised the club for trumpeting the “upgrade” to the facility at the expense of the netball team.
They also faced further backlash over the weekend as screenshots circulated on X (formerly Twitter) of the club hiding comments about the netball team and blocking some users as well.
Outspoken media personality said Collingwood made an “error” in their handling of the situation.
“The controversial part of this is that the (initial) upgrade was partially built by a $15 million government grant … but Collingwood’s reaction to this was where the error was,” Cornes said on SEN on Monday.
“I don’t reckon Collingwood needs $15 million of taxpayer funded money and I get the backlash behind that … but then Collingwood started blocking people as far as I could see on Twitter and hiding a reply.”
GWS then added fuel to the fire on Monday by replying to the post with an image of Giants netballer Matisse Letherbarrow and men’s player Finn Callaghan and the comment “looks good.”
The post was an instant hit with fans and quickly racked up over 1k likes and over 200 retweets.
It’s the latest in a list of barbs between the two clubs ahead of their clash in the opening round on March 7.
Collingwood premiership hero Mason Cox called the Giants’ home venue “a showground for livestock” that didn’t sit well with Giants CEO David Matthews.
“To be honest, it’s D-grade comedy at best,” Matthews said on SEN in November.
“I guess that’s his thing. I guess it resonates with some people. I didn’t see it, someone showed it to me.
“I guess our players and fans are looking forward to giving him a warm welcome when he does get here, assuming he’s in the side.”
The Giants then featured Mason Cox in a graphic with cows and sheep in their promotion for selling tickets to the match.
It all adds extra spice to the preliminary final rematch on March 9.
