‘He never played…’: Hardik Pandya slammed for not utilising Jasprit Bumrah properly against Jake Fraser-McGurk | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Powerful hitting from Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs propelled the Delhi Capitals to a 10-run victory over the Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring Indian Premier League game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.
Fraser-McGurk notched 84 runs from just 27 balls, smashing 11 fours and six sixes, while Stubbs added 48 not out from 25 balls later in the innings as Delhi Capitals posted an impressive 257-4 in 20 overs.
Tilak Varma spearheaded Mumbai’s chase with 63 off 32 balls, but the visitors fell short, ending their innings at 247-9 in 20 overs.Delhi Capitals moved up to fifth place with 10 points, just outside the top four based on net run rate. Mumbai Indians are currently ninth after suffering their sixth loss in nine games.

After Mumbai Indians’ defeat, former India cricketer Irfan Pathan criticized Hardik Pandya for not effectively utilising the team’s star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, especially against the in-form Fraser-McGurk.

“Cricket is a small margin game and that was a small margin victory for DC vs MI. Bumrah should have started in front of Fraser McGurk as he never played Bumrah before. Things might have been different,” Irfan wrote on his social media handle.

Bumrah bowled 4 overs, conceded 35 runs and claimed one wicket.
