Helena Christensen Toasted Her First Hunza G Collaboration With an Intimate Dinner at Nine Orchard

Tucked in a private dining room inside Lower East Side hotspot Nine Orchard, a cohort of Helena Christensen’s friends gathered on Thursday night to celebrate her first collaboration with Hunza G, the swimwear brand known for its signature crinkle stretch fabric.

The Danish-Peruvian supermodel, resplendent in a red bodycon dress from the London-based label, co-hosted the affair alongside Hunza G co-founder Georgiana Huddart in the warm, intimate space, complete with blue glazed tiles, antique chandeliers and a gas-burning fireplace.

In between courses of roasted lemon chicken, pasta with forest mushroom ragout, and kale with garlic, Christensen caught up with seatmates like Julianne Moore, Adrien Brody, Haley Logan, Georgina Chapman, Camilla Staerk, and Tina Leung.

Christensen, an avid photographer herself, took plenty of Polaroids throughout the night. The meals were prepared by acclaimed Danish chef Frederik Bille Brahe (brother of fine jewelry designer Sophie Bill Brahe), a close friend of Christensen who flew into New York City for this event.

“I love when a collaboration comes from an organic place,” Christensen, a fan and wearer of the brand for many years, tells Vogue. After posting a photo of herself in a green one-shoulder Hunza G swimsuit, she received a message from Huddart the two got to chatting. “Next thing we were like, ‘Why don’t we do something together?'”

The campaign for the collection, a six-piece capsule of one-size-fits-all, classic Hunza G styles rendered in lilac and white stripes (a nod to Christensen’s favorite color and nautical roots and years spent swimming in the harbors of Denmark and rivers of Peru), was photographed beachside and creative-directed by the supermodel herself.

“Helena represents longevity and timelessness which is how we approach working with collaborators, everything is an intentional addition to a collection of pieces that stand apart from trends,” adds Huddart. “Having Helena across the process from product development to being on-set, she brought so much of herself to the collection and it shows!”
