Karizma first made its debut over two decades ago, and at the time, Hero MotoCorp was in a joint venture in India with Japanese two-wheeler company Honda.
Known as the Hero Honda Karizma, the motorcycle was an instant success in the country, leading to the introduction of the Karizma R as its successor, and then Karizma ZMR later on before being discontinued from the market.
The new-generation of the motorcycle will be called Hero Karizma XMR. While specifications aren’t available as of yet, we expect Hero MotoCorp to plonk a 210 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine on the motorcycle, putting out about 25 PS of maximum power, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The suspension duties will likely be taken care of by telescopic forks up front, coupled to a monoshock at the rear. Braking is expected to be taken care of by a standard front disc brake, while a rear disc brake could also be on offer, with dual-channel ABS. Other features will likely include a fully-digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and tail light, navigation, hazard-light switch and so on.
