Hero MotoCorp, known for its budget commuter and mid-range motorcycles, has recently been seen swiftly shifting in the premium, sporty segments. The manufacturer has now released a teaser, hinting at its most substantial offering yet – a 440cc motorcycle, which will be launched on January 22. Notably, the teaser features a distinctive bassy exhaust note.Besides that, the manufacturer is emphasizing on the letter ‘R’, clearly hinting that the bike’s could start from the letter.
After collaborating with US-based marque Harley-Davidson for the X440, the manufacturer is now gearing up to bring its own model in the segment, thereby further expanding its premium segment lineup. The upcoming model is part of Hero’s expansion of the premium category lineup, which at can utilize two distinct engines with new architectures apart from the option of coming up with an all-new engine.

However, for the upcoming motorcycle, it is likely that it will be based on the Harley Davidson X440 platform albeit with distinctive styling. On the other hand, we can expect the motorcycle to borrow the same 440cc single-cylinder, oil and air-cooled engine from its stablemate. This motor belts out 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a six-speed gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch. Although, for the upcoming model, it is possible that it might come with a different state of tune to suit the characteristics of the motorcycle.
