As the Logie Awards, a celebration of TV, approach, Home and Away stars Ray Meagher and Emily Symons reminisce about an unfortunate incident. After Ray’s name was announced as the winner of the Gold Logie in 2010, Emily, who was seated next to him, got a little too carried away with excitement. During an interview on The Morning Show, Emily confessed that she accidentally spilled her glass of wine into Ray’s lap just as he was about to accept his award. “I’m not going to win, but if I do, he might want revenge!” she exclaimed. This year, Emily is nominated for the Silver Logie for Best Actress, while Ray is up for the Best Actor award. As they sat together during a live segment, Emily jokingly asked Ray if he planned to get her back for the spilled wine incident. Ray humorously replied that it was a possibility, as he attempted to dry out his wet trousers. However, their conversation was interrupted when the late Bert Newton, the awards host, approached Ray. Reflecting on the incident, Emily laughed and admitted that she felt like she had ruined the greatest moment of his life. Ray also took the opportunity to praise Emily, recalling how she made her debut on the Home and Away set in 1989. He complimented her character Marilyn Chambers, saying that she was a refreshing addition to the show and praised her comedic timing. Emily expressed her gratitude for his kind words and joked that she would repay Ray later for the compliment. The two actors also shared that their friendship is filled with pranks, with Ray often trying to steal Emily’s book of lines.
