Home and Away star Lynne McGranger was among the attendees at a memorial service in Perth for Johnny Ruffo on Saturday – and has shared her emotions about the day.
Ruffo, known for his role in the iconic soap opera and his time on The X Factor, lost his battle with brain cancer on November 10, aged 35.

Friends, family and co-stars attended the service at Balcatta Senior High School.
Home and Away star Lynne McGranger was among the attendees, and shared an Instagram post after the memorial.
“Said ‘goodbye for now’ to this magnificent human today,” she said.
“So many emotions, so much love, so blessed to be included in his huge and crazy family.
“So many people came to say goodbye, so many more couldn’t get here.
“We cried and laughed and danced and sang and ate and drank and hugged and cried and …. – exactly how he would have wanted it.
“Fly high my friend, I hope you know how much you’re loved.
McGranger’s co-star Ada Nicodemou commented on the post, saying: “What a tough day Lynne, I know how hard it would’ve been.”
“You were such a wonderful friend to Johnny and he loved you very much.
“He will always be in our hearts, he touched everyone he came in contact with, just a beautiful human.
“Rest in peace our people friend.”
Johnny’s talent
Ruffo was known in the industry as a “triple threat” – a talented actor, singer and dancer.
He was a finalist in the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011 before going on to play the role of Chris Harrington in Home and Away from 2013.
Ruffo was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2017 after suffering excruciating migraines.
He underwent emergency surgery to remove a seven-centimetre tumour that left him with 27 staples in his head.
He had extensive chemotherapy but, in 2020, announced the cancer had returned.
