Honda H’ness CB350, CB350RS recalled: Here’s why and how to check if your bike is affected

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) had issued a recall for two of its motorcycles – the H’ness CB350 and its sibling CB350RS. The recall has been issued due to a possible malfunction of the rear stop light, as well as a separate issue with the bank angle sensor. The replacement of these affected parts will be carried out at Honda’s premium BigWing dealerships across India starting from second week of December 2023.
Due to an improper process being followed to manufacture the rubber parts of rear stop light switch, cracks could develop on the rubber parts, causing water entry and corrosion inside the switch. Thus, this may lead to the rear stop light malfunctioning.Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350RS motorcycles manufactured between October 2020 to January 2023 are affected under this issue.

The second issue involves an inappropriate molding procedure of the sensor housing, which could result in a gap occurring in the sensor body sealing that may cause water entry inside the bank angle sensor. This leads to chances of a possible sensor malfunction and vehicle stalling. H’ness CB350 and CB350 bikes manufactured between October 2020 to December 2021 are affected by this.
Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350RS owners can head to the Honda BigWing website and look out for the ‘Recall Campaign’ option on the homepage. You will then be asked to select your motorcycle model, and enter the 17-digit VIN/chassis number to see if your vehicle is affected by either or both of the two issues.
HMSI says vehicle owners would need to take a prior appointment before visiting the dealership, and the replacement of the faulty part would take approximately one hour. The replacement will be done free of cost irrespective of the warranty status of the motorcycle.
