Hootie & The Blowfish coming to Syracuse amphitheater with fellow ‘90s faves

Get ready to hear some of the biggest ‘90s radio hits in Syracuse.

Hootie & The Blowfish will bring their “Summer Camp with Trucks” tour to the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on Friday, Sept. 6. Special guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain will open the concert at 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Prices may vary. Empower Federal Credit Union members will have access to exclusive presale tickets starting Thursday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m.

It’s the fourth show announced for the Empower FCU Amphitheater’s 2024 concert season. The Amp was recently renamed in a 7-year deal worth $4 million after previously being known as the Lakeview Amphitheater and St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview, or St. Joe’s Amp, since 2018.

This will be Hootie’s first Syracuse concert since performing at the New York State Fair in 2007 with Counting Crows. Hootie & The Blowfish’s 2024 tour dates include two other Upstate New York stops on June 15 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs and June 27 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Hootie & The Blowfish is a Grammy-winning rock group led by Darius Rucker, who’s also known for his solo country career. The band’s hits include “I Go Blind,” “Hold Your Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You.”

Collective Soul is known for mid-’90s rock hits “Shine” and “December,” while McCain was everywhere (including “Rock & Roll Jeopardy”) in the late ‘90s with “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More.”
