How to watch every Star Wars film and series in order on Star Wars Day | Films | Entertainment

May the 4th be with you, it’s Star Wars Day. Today (Saturday) marks the annual celebration of all things Star Wars, as fans around the world indulge in everything from a galaxy far, far away.

George Lucas’ original 1977 blockbuster has gone on to become a multi-billion dollar multimedia franchise that has spanned almost 50 years and now includes feature spin-offs, animated shows, a raft of video games and so much more. Star Wars shows no signs of slowing, as 2024 will see release of at least three brand-new shows on Disney+, Tales of the Empire – streaming now – The Acolyte – set to premiere June 5 – and Skeleton Crew – which is yet to receive a release date.

For those who want to celebrate Star Wars Day by diving into some of the many films and series, Disney+ is the place to be. The streamer is the exclusive home of the entire Skywalker saga, as well as the many live-action and animated spin-offs.

Star Wars fans can join Disney+ from just £4.99 a month, or get 12 months for the price of 10 by paying for a year up front with the Standard or Premium plans. A 12-month subscription to the Premium plan now costs £109.90 – saving £21.98 compared to paying monthly – and includes higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, plus the ability to stream on four devices simultaneously.

There are now so many titles in the Star Wars franchise it can be tricky deciphering the best order in which to watch them, but there’s arguably no “correct” way. It all comes down to personal preference as viewers can watch the titles in the order they were released or in chronological order, either including the films and shows or just the films.

LEGO has launched a range of all-new LEGO Star Wars sets, available now as part of the dual celebration of Star Wars Day and LEGO Star Wars’ 25th anniversary. All sets are avaialble to buy now from the LEGO website, with several free gifts available with select purchases.

First up is the new set is the 1,931-piece TIE Interceptor for £199.99, originally released in 2000 as part of the first launch of the Ultimate Collector Series and now back with this new and redesigned version. First seen in Return of the Jedi, this set is an impressive 40 cm long and comes complete with an exclusive TIE Pilot minifigure and Mouse Droid figure – currently limited to this set – plus a stand with a printed plaque.

From May 1-5, LEGO Star Wars fans will receive three free gifts worth a total of £260 when purchasing the TIE Interceptor set. The bonus sets include the Battle of Yavin collectible – depicting Darth Vader’s cockpit view, the Trade Federation Troop Carrier set commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace and the AAT building set.

The Phantom Menace fans can dive into building a dynamic snapshot of Tatooine with the Mos Espa Podrace Diorama set for £69.99. The 718-piece display set includes a young Anakin Skywalker, the Arch Canyon and a plaque with Qui-Gon Jinn’s advice: “Remember. Concentrate on the moment. Feel. Don’t think. Use your instincts.”

For those who prefer the dark side can pick up Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator set for £59.99. The 640-piece set features fold-out wings, retractable landing gear, and two spring-loaded shooters, plus a trigger that can be used to drop three probe droids from the front compartment as seen in The Phantom Menace.

There’s also the brick-built 583-piece Droideka set for £59.99, so you can build your very own destroyer droid first seen in the original prequel film. The Mandalorian fans can relive his dramatic Jedi Temple escape for £24.99 with the 221-piece BARC Speeder Escape – complete with Kelleran Beq figure – as seen in the latest series of Disney+ show.

Those who prefer brick-built display characters are also in for a treat with the set of six collectible LEGO BrickHeadz figures for £49.99, featuring Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka. For Revenge of the Sith fans, there is also a BrickHeadz Clone Commander Cody for £9.99.

As well as these awesome sets, also launching for pre-order on May 1 is the new LEGO Star Wars Coffee Table Book, The Force of Creativity. For £129.99, this 312-page hardcover book – complete with slipcase with collective memorabilia – takes fans on a journey through interviews with more than 50 contributors from the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm alongside development art and character designs.
