Images inside: Tata Safari facelift test mule reveals exterior details

TOI Auto cameras recently spotted a test mule in Pune, of what is presumably the face-lifted Tata Safari SUV. Expected to launch by the end of 2023, there has been a lot of anticipation around the all-new Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs, since the 2023 Auto Expo. The flagship SUV duo has been due for a generational upgrade and the Safari test mule reveals some key changes that we can expect to see in the upcoming SUV. There seem to be significant changes to the front profile and rear design of the seven-seater and also the updated wheel design. Here’s what the test mule revealed.

As we can see in the images, while the front profile of the Safari is instantly recognisable, the LED DRLs seem to be slightly different from the existing model. The lower part of the front fascia will get bigger updates with cascading headlamp units, instead of the horizontally aligned headlamps in the current model. A new grille and silver finished scuff plate can also be made out from the images captured by TOI Auto.

On the side profile, the glass area and door panels of the Safari test mule seem to be identical to the existing SUV, what is notable difference is the design for the alloy wheels, which are one size up at 19-inch than the existing Safari. The alloy wheels further feature an all-new multi-spoke design.

The rear end of the test mule also revealed that the upcoming Safari SUV will feature a sharper design for the taillamp units. A roof-mounted spoiler with a shark fin antenna was also on the test mule and the rear bumper did not seem to have the faux exhaust tips that the existing model has.
