As of now, the director is gearing up for the release of his Amar Singh Chamkila biopic starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. On the one hand, where everyone is super excited about the upcoming release, on the other hand, the audience wishes to get an update on certain sequels and threequels of the Ali.
The fanbase for ‘Jab We Met’ which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the lead, and ‘Love Aaj Kal’ headlined by Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone is very strong.So the question of the hour is will the filmmaker release the next instalments of these movies?

“Well, no. No ‘Love Aaj Kal 3,’ no ‘Jab We Met 2‘ as of now. I don’t know whether I should ever make a sequel but let’s see,” said Imtiaz Ali on the topic while speaking to Pinkvilla.
He further added that he never says never. However, there are no plans for these movies as of now. At the same time, he has 3 scripts that he desperately wants to start working on.

Till he shares another update on ‘Jab We Met 2,’ cine lovers can enjoy ‘Chamkila,’ which will be available for streaming on OTT from April 12, 2024. Speaking on the matter that why he chose OTT over the theatre for ‘Chamkila,’ Imtiaz shared that when new things come along, then one must try them out. Though as a filmmaker and cinema lover, he always imagines his work on the big screen, he believes it would not be a bad thing even if the movie comes out on OTT.
