India News: Unnamed teenager ‘confesses’ to second accident in Gujarat Jaguar crash incident

AHMEDABAD: Even as senior traffic police officers claimed that the accused in Iskcon flyover accident, Tathya Patel, also confessed to having rammed his vehicle into a boundary wall of a restaurant on Sindhu Bhawan Road (SBR), cops did not mention his name as an accused in the FIR filed on Saturday.

Patel, 19, a resident of Gota, had on Thursday (July 20) rammed his speeding Jaguar into a crowd that had gathered around an accident spot after a Thar hit a truck on the Iskcon flyover.
Earlier, Mihir Shah, 32, a resident of Thaltej who runs a restaurant in Bodakdev, said in his FIR before the N Division traffic police that in the early hours of July 3, his security guard called him up and said that an unknown man driving a Thar (who later turned out to be Tathya Patel) had rammed into the compound of his restaurant.

The compound wall of the restaurant got damaged in the accident.
The security guard registered the number of the Thar which was captured on the CCTV. “As the loss was nominal, I did not file a complaint. But I later learnt that the man involved in the Iskcon flyover case was the same person who damaged my compound wall. So, I came to the police station to file a complaint. But I do not know who was driving the car,” said Shah.
Senior traffic police officers said that the new case against Tathya would help cops to make a stronger case against him. But they did not reveal why his name was not mentioned in the case.
