A Russian man has been arrested for keeping a woman as a sex slave for 14 years in a makeshift dungeon. The woman, identified as Ekaterina, managed to escape from Vladimir Cheskidov’s home in the village of Smoleno. She alleges that Cheskidov regularly raped her and even killed another woman on his property. Ekaterina claims that she was held captive since 2009 and was raped more than 1,000 times. Cheskidov has denied the allegations, stating that he and Ekaterina had a consensual relationship. Ekaterina met Cheskidov at a bus depot, where he lured her to his house under false pretenses. She was kept in a padlocked bedroom with bars on the windows and was only allowed out to perform house chores at knifepoint. When Cheskidov left the house, he would duct-tape Ekaterina’s mouth and tie her to a beam to prevent her from escaping. Authorities found a collection of sex toys, muzzles, and pornography at Cheskidov’s property. Cheskidov’s mother, Valentina Cheskidova, is also facing charges for being complicit in the kidnapping. She denies the mistreatment of Ekaterina and claims that Ekaterina lived with them voluntarily.
