Vande Bharat Express trains are about to undergo a makeover with the introduction of 25 new features. These enhancements have been designed based on feedback from passengers and railway zones, with the aim of making the trains the safest, most comfortable, and most convenient mode of travel in India. The upgraded trains will feature a new color scheme of orange and grey, setting a new standard for modern train travel in the country. The Indian Railways currently operates 50 Vande Bharat train services on 25 different routes. Some of the key new features that have been introduced include optimized cushion hardness for a more comfortable ride, increased seat reclining angles, deeper wash basins in the toilets to prevent water splashing, improved accessibility of mobile charging points, and a change in the color of seats in the Executive Class from red to blue. Other improvements include the provision of fixing points for wheelchairs used by Divyangjan passengers, anti-climbing devices in the coaches, better air conditioning control, larger passenger information and infotainment screens, improved fire detection systems, and standardized colors for toilet panels. Additionally, various aspects of the coaches have been modified to enhance aesthetics, firmness, and ease of maintenance, such as improved lighting, magazine bags, better grip on toilet handles, hinged transparent door assembly for fire extinguishers, and high-rise pantographs in areas with higher landscapes. By implementing these new features, the Indian Railways aims to provide a safer, more comfortable, and more enjoyable travel experience for passengers on the Vande Bharat Express trains.
