Jaipur Man Buys Ather 450 Electric Scooter with Rs 10 Coins, CEO Reacts |

In an unexpected turn of events, a customer from Jaipur purchased a new Ather 450 electric scooter using nothing but Rs 10 coins. This unique payment method grabbed the attention of Ather Energy‘s CEO, Tarun Mehta. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a picture of the moment: the proud customer being handed over the key, surrounded by pouches filled with Rs 10 coins neatly laid out on a table.
“A new Ather owner just bought himself a 450 in Jaipur … all with 10Re coins!” Mehta wrote. Though the exact variant of the Ather 450 series model the man purchased isn’t known, the Bengaluru EV startup, at present, offers three models under this series: 450S, 450X, and 450 Apex. The prices start at Rs 1.10 lakh for 450S and go all the way up to Rs 1.89 lakh, for the flagship 450 Apex.

Besides these models, the company is now gearing up to introduce its first family-oriented scooter, the Rizta. The company has shared a handful of teasers already, including a picture shared on social media by stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi.
While the Ather 450 series is known for its performance-oriented design, the Rizta takes a different approach. This upcoming family-friendly scooter will prioritize comfort and practicality. The company has confirmed that the Rizta will feature the largest seat in its segment, also making the Rizta the largest Ather scooter yet.
This new e-scooter might boast improved range and performance compared to other Ather models, possibly due to an upgraded battery and motor configuration. However, it’s important to note that there’s been no official confirmation from the company regarding these details yet.
