Jawan has reset all the box office records since the day of its release, the film holds record for biggest opening on day 1 and highest Hindi collection in a day among many others. It is now the highest grossing Hindi film of all times beating Gadar 2 which had achieved that status only for one night. In fact on Friday, the makers of Jawan also announced that it became the first Hindi film to cross Rs 1103.27 crore as gross box office collection.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ beats Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ to become highest grossing Hindi film

But as they saw the devil lies in the details, Jawan’s box office collection has been on a downward spiral for the past few days.As per Sacnilk, the film on Friday collected only Rs 1.86 crore of which Rs 1.78 crore came from Hindi and rest from Tamil and Telugu. It should also be noted that Jawan’s 29th day collection is more than Day 1 collection of new release like Dono and Thank You For Coming, which have made about Rs 35 lakhs and Rs 80 lakhs respectively, which only means that in the next few days one can expect Jawan numbers to see a spike , with people preferringShah Rukh Khan over anyone else.
Though the film has minted Rs 1103.27 crores as the global box office, it is unlikely that it will beat the record of KGF 2 and RRR, which made about Rs 1200 crore. Also Baahubali 2- The Conclusion’s Rs 1700 and Dangal’s Rs 2400 crore collection also now seem to be out of bounds.
Post the success of the movie, Shah Rukh Khan held a press conference and spoke about the humongous numbers the film has been collecting. He had said, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of Jawan has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially people from the South who came and settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”
