Karnataka Police Travel to Kochi for Arresting Suspects Detained by Kerala Police on Alleged Extortion Charges

Four police personnel from Karnataka were detained by the Kerala Police in Kochi for alleged extortion. The Karnataka cops had traveled to Kochi to arrest two suspects involved in a cheating case. However, after apprehending the suspects, the Karnataka police officials demanded money from them to release them. The fiancé of one of the suspects filed a complaint, and based on that, the Kerala Police detained the Karnataka police personnel and charged them with extortion. The Karnataka Police officials allegedly demanded Rs 25 lakh from each suspect, but they were unable to pay. The Kerala Police took action, detained the Karnataka Police officials, and recovered Rs 3.95 lakh from their vehicle. The incident is still under investigation, and a senior officer from the Karnataka Police has arrived in Kochi to look into the matter.
