Kate stated in her message that she was informed by her doctors that cancer had been detected in her body. As stated by the princess, she is “now in the early stages of that treatment”.
According to Kensington Palace, the future queen is presently undergoing chemotherapy, which began in February. Kate Middleton, 42, underwent “major abdominal surgery” on January 16 and the procedure was successful, according to the hospital record. Since no testing had shown that cancer was present, it was believed at the time of her surgery that her condition was not malignant. Post-operative testing did, however, confirm the presence of malignancy.
Following weeks of intense speculation and wild conspiracy theories on the internet over the nature of her ailment, Kensington Palace announced that the princess chose this moment to reveal her diagnosis because “it was the right time,” given that the couple’s kids are currently off from school for the Easter break.
The princess also thanked the public for the “wonderful messages of support” that have been sent her way since her January admission to The London Clinic. At the time, Kensington Palace announced that Kate will spend two weeks in the hospital and resume her royal duties following Easter.
After being released from the hospital on January 29 after 13 days, she has been recuperating at the Windsor family home. The princess’s return to royal duties is now unknown due to her cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment. Kate declared that she would “look forward to being back when I am able” and that she would currently concentrate on her healing.
In a moving and personal speech that was broadcast on television on Wednesday, Kate described “an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family” and confirmed her diagnosis. The statement was filmed in Windsor. However, in an act of extraordinary bravery, the princess sent a message of hope to those fighting their own battle, stating, “Please do not lose faith or hope for anyone suffering this cancer, in whatever form. You’re not by yourself.”
The mother-of-three described her situation as “a huge shock” while sitting outside on a dark brown park bench in front of a vibrant springtime backdrop of daffodils. She also confirmed that she and her husband, Prince William, 41, had personally informed their three children—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5—of her diagnosis, but that they had told them, “I am going to be ok.”
It has been revealed by royal insiders that the princess’s illness and her public declaration were known to King Charles and Queen Camilla beforehand. In addition to receiving weekly treatment for the illness, 75-year-old Charles has also been maintaining a small journal of carefully scheduled public appearances. He recently thanked the public in a message to express gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received.
The princess thanked her husband Prince William for his love and support, seeming absolutely stoic as she delivered her heartbreaking message. She said, “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too.” As is the affection, encouragement, and kindness so many of you have shown. It is really important to us both.”
