Former Home and Away favourite Kate Ritchie got a taste of life in the fast lane when she went for a spin in Sydney with race car driver Kane Coleman.
The NOVA radio star took to Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday with Coleman, who showed her just what speeds her 2018 Subaru Impreza could get up to (160 kph, as it turned out).

Then she went for a wild ride with the motorsport park’s Luke O’Neill, who took her for a 240kph spin in a McLaren racing car.
In video of the speedy ride, Ritchie covers her face with her hands as the car cranks into gear and yells: “Oh my GOD!”
“Oh geez!” she shouted, looking terrified and laughing all at the same time.
“Am I safe? I don’t think I signed a waiver!”
Clinging on to her seatbelt for dear life, she screams: “Someone at Nova is going to be very … IN TROUBLE!”
The track turn came about as Ritchie gears up to give her Impreza away to one lucky Fitzy & Wippa listener on Friday.
For the past several weeks, listeners have been calling in to the radio station with their best joke, story or talent to impress the former Home and Away star and go into the draw to win her car.
Whoever wins the vehicle will also get a bunch of other prizes, including a new TV, concert tickets and cash.
One fan posted on Ritchie’s Instagram page saying she was going to “sew to win”.
“Praying sew🧵hard!!!” the fan wrote.
“I’ll sew for Kate and Australia 🇦🇺 if I win.
“Dog coats and cushions for everyone!”
One fan was dubious that Ritchie really drove an Impreza.
“I love this! BUT let’s be honest Kate, you ain’t cruising around in an Impreza!” the fan wrote.
“Great car and all (I have one).
“But you’re a BMW chick … surely?!???”
In another video posted to Instagram, Ritchie took her former Home and Away colleagues – and 2023 Logie nominees – Emily Symons, Lynne McGranger and Ada Nicodemou for a quick Subaru inspection.

During the inspection, Emily found randomly placed Logie statues as Ada tried to rev the car up and Lynne hid in the boot.
“Love this little reunion!! Haha,” one fan wrote beneath the hilarious video.
“The best girl gang,” wrote another.
“I did not expect this 🤣😂🙏🏻❤️ 4 Home and Away Legends in one video,” said a third.
“Stone the flamin’ crows!” exclaimed another.
