Katy is a judge on American Idol along with fellow music superstars Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

Paparazzi captured photos of the Hot N Cold singer, 39, beside Lionel, 74, and Luke, 47, in the middle of taping.
Katy was in full glam with her jet-black hair styled into her signature middle part, sporting a strapless lime-green, body-hugging dress.
In one photo, she appeared to be hiding behind Lionel, who was waving toward the cameras.
Photographers managed to score some shots of the award-winning songstress smiling widely when she had turned her head enough.
Although Katy seems happy to be judging Idol again, there are some fans who aren’t happy she’s returning.
She received backlash over the weekend after announcing the Idol season premiere on her social media.
The TV personality shared a promotional graphic on her Instagram, a sketched drawing of her standing on the beach in Santa Barbara, California.
In the artwork, the mother of one stood with her hand on her hip while wearing a black, white, and brown floor-length dress.

A second photo showed the singer standing with her Idol co-stars, Ryan Seacrest, 49, Lionel, and Luke.

Despite the exciting news of the singing competition’s return, fans were more concerned with the songwriter’s lack of musical releases.

Many took to the comments section to beg Katy to leave Idol and focus on her project.
“We want kp6 lead single cover not american idol,” one wrote, mentioning her speculated sixth album.
The comment garnered nearly 400 likes in agreement.
“Give us your origin story for KP6,” a second asked, while a third demanded, “Where’s the álbum.”
“Kp6 origin story tonight queen?” a fourth joked.
“We just want to know about the album,” a fifth confessed.
