Khushi Kapoor, who made her big Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar‘s ‘The Archies’, made heads turn at the grand premiere of the film by wearing one of her late mother Sridevi‘s gowns for the big occasion.
The young diva recently spilled some beans on the same in an interview with Hindustan Times. Khushi explained that she hadn’t meticulously planned the outfit for the premiere. In discussions with her stylist beforehand, who had proposed various options, including modern gowns, Khushi, who has a keen interest in fashion and enjoys experimenting, decided not to make a bold fashion statement on that significant day. Given the enormity of the occasion and her nervousness leading up to it, she had a last-minute idea. Wanting to incorporate something of her own into the ensemble, whether it be a piece of jewelry or a dress, she sought extra emotional support for the big day. Khushi delved into their collection of old clothes and selected an item that resonated with her.

Asked about the decision to pursue a career in the film industry, Khushi mentioned that it was something she had known since childhood. Growing up on movie sets, it became her playground, and she acknowledged not knowing anything else. According to her, the interest in the industry was innate, driven by fascination with the camera, lights, and the opportunity to tell stories for a living.

Bollywood’s big night: Industry comes together for the premiere of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda’s debut film

Khushi spoke about her childhood experiences on her parents’ film sets, noting that her mother, during a phase when Khushi was young, had taken a step back from acting. She vaguely recalled accompanying her mother to the sets of a show called Malini Iyer. Additionally, she mentioned her father’s (producer Boney Kapoor) movie sets, specifically recalling being on the sets of Wanted. One of the most vivid memories for her was English Vinglish when she was around 12 years old. It was her mother’s first comeback film, and she fondly remembered being present throughout the shooting schedule, especially during the New York scenes. This film holds a special place as one of her favorites.

Meanwhile, ‘The Archies’ received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics alike. The film also marked the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
