Kmart shoppers are in a frenzy over their take on a $1,250 cult designer shoe.
Sharing on Instagram, popular account @KmartInsider revealed how the retail giant had brought out $20 slides that at first glance appear similar to Gucci’s Horsebit Leather Slippers.
The shoes – called Almond Chain Detail Mules on the Kmart website – come in black and taupe.

Kmart’s mules feature an “almond toe” and have a synthetic upper, lining and outsole, whereas a pair of Gucci’s Princetown slippers are made from leather and feature the distinctive “gold-toned horsebit” which is described as an “archival symbol inspired by the equestrian world”.
Since the Kmart shoes were shared on social media, shoppers have been in a frenzy to get their hands on a pair of what they call ‘dupes’.
“So excited. I’ve wanted a pair of these Guccis for so long, but could never afford them,” said one.
Another wrote: “Will be going to Kmart on my way home for sure.”
A third said: “Kmart making my dreams come true yet again.”
The Instagram page that shared the find has made a name for itself in sharing Kmart styles that are similar to in-demand – and expensive – fashion finds.
It recently revealed how Kmart had brought out a $15 buy that is similar to a cult $1,285 Jacquemus bag – as well as a $18 piece of clothing that was compared to a popular Dion Lee corset top, which retails for $540.
