Last Chance to Enter World Oceans Day 2023 Contest


The day has finally come! It’s your very last chance to submit your images to the 10th UN World Oceans Day Photo Competition! All entries must be submitted by April 28th at 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST)!⁠

In case you didn’t already know, the competition presents a unique opportunity for photographers to showcase the immense breadth and depth of the ocean’s beauty as well as to shed light on the lesser known promise and potential brimming beneath its waves. Winners will be announced on stage during the UN World Oceans Day event on June 8th and broadcast live on UN TV.

This year’s categories for submissions are⁠:

  1. No Time to Waste
  2. Putting the Ocean First
  3. The Wonderful World of Tides
  4. Ocean Is Life
  5. Big and Small Underwater Faces
  6. Underwater Seascapes

The photo competition for UN World Oceans Day is curated by Ellen Cuylaerts and judged by a jury of world-renowned photographers. The 2023 competition is organized in partnership with DPG, Oceanic Global, United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, Nausicaa and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. Judges include: Rathika Ramasamy, Ipah Uid Lynn, Rajan Desai and Antoine Janssens.
