The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival will take place at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Aug. 11. During the festival, there will be street closures and entrance closures in the park. From Aug. 7 to Aug. 16, JFK Drive from Transverse to 36th Avenue will be closed. The park entrance closures for Outside Lands will be from Aug. 10, 8 p.m., to Aug. 13, 11 p.m. On the north side of the park, the closures include Transverse Drive at Crossover Drive, JFK Drive at Transverse Drive, 30th Avenue, 36th Avenue, 43rd Avenue (Chain of Lakes), 47th Avenue, The Great Highway at JFK Drive, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Crossover Drive, 25th Avenue, Sunset Boulevard at Irving Street, 41st Avenue (Chain of Lakes), and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Lincoln Avenue. To get to and from Outside Lands, the transportation agency will provide additional services on the N Judah and 5R Fulton. Muni will also provide a 5X Fulton Express service from Golden Gate Park to Civic Center BART Station. However, festivalgoers should expect extra travel time on the N Judah bus lines due to the expected crowds. Muni will have extra services to Golden Gate Park, including the 5R Fulton, the N Judah bus, and the 5X Fulton Express. The taxi pickup and passenger loading zones will be available in certain areas. There will also be bike and scooter share services available daily at an “active transportation hub” near Hellman Hollow. City officials recommend avoiding driving and using bike-share stations instead. Eight new bike-share stations, operated by Bay Wheels, have opened at Golden Gate Park. The locations of the new bike stations include Pompeii Circle at JFK Drive, MLK Jr. Drive at 7th Ave, JFK Drive at 8th Ave/Music Concourse Drive, JFK Drive at Ocean Beach, JFK Drive at Chain of Lakes, MLK at Chain of Lakes, Bowling Green Drive north of the parking lot, and Stow Lake.
