After a successful stint as a child actor, Kunal Kemmu is known for his work in movies like Kalyug, Go Goa Gone, Lootcase, the Golmaal series, and 99. Now, Kunal has now found his stride as a director with Madgaon Express. The film is its second weekend now and has been holding slow and steady at the box office.
It has crossed Rs 15 crore at the box office on its Day 9, which is the second Saturday, according to Sacnilk.As predicted by ETimes, the film crossed Rs 13 crore mark in its first week, the film collected Rs 13.5 crore after it had an extended 4 day weekend on the occasion of Holi festival. Kunal Kemmu’s directorial venture began its second weekend with a slight drop on Friday as it collected just Rs 90 lakhs, which was a 25 % drop from its Thursday collection of Rs 1.2 crore. But the film picked on Saturday to collect Rs 1.25 crore, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 15.65 crore.
Going by the positive word of mouth, the film is expected to have an even bigger jump on Sunday. The film will expect to earn at least Rs 22 to Rs 25 crore before its theatrical run comes to an end.
Madgaon Express might get impacted by the release of Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh. Crew in two days has earned more than the overall collection of this 9 day old film.
