Mahindra teases new concept for upcoming global debut: A sneak peek at the latest pickup truck

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to showcase a brand-new pickup truck concept at its Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa next month. Known as the ‘Global Pik Up vision‘, the concept vehicle will be revealed on Independence Day, announced the manufacturer with a teaser video revealing some interesting design details.
The pickup truck concept gets vertically stacked LED tail lights which seem to be inspired by the Thar, except doubled up. A foot step can be seen as well, but it’s not clear if it is to access the cargo area or the cabin of the pickup truck. The teaser then reveals Mahindra’s new twin peaks logo embedded on a stylized chrome grille. An eagle eye shot also reveals a sunroof on the top of the pickup truck concept, while another one displays its chunky off-road ready tyres and blacked out alloy wheels.
It is yet unknown if Mahindra plans to introduce a production version of the pickup truck concept set to be showcased next month. As of now, buyers in India have only two pickup trucks to choose from, namely Isuzu V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux. That said, we would surely love to see a pickup truck from the house of Mahindra based on the Scorpio-N, maybe even undercutting the V-Cross which is currently priced from Rs 22.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
